Circumference
Work out the circumference and area of the circular piece of glass needed for the top of a display cabinet which has a diameter of 1.8m. Use 3.14 (Pie).

The circumference is 2*Pi*R where R is the radius. The radius R is half the diameter D. So the answer is 2*Pi*(D/2) or Pi*D which is 3.14*1.8m
The area is Pi*R^2 where R is radius. The radius R is half the diameter D. So the answer is Pi*(D/2)^2 or 3.14*(1.8/2)^2 = 2.5434
